What's Happening This Summer at Las Vegas Venues

Looking for something to do this summer? While it may not have seemed like it over the last two years, Las Vegas is still The Entertainment Capital of the World, and this summer the city is definitely earning that title. With the return of conventions and concerts, there are plenty of residences and performances to see with friends and family. If you are into live music, here is a rundown of the biggest concerts happening over the next three months, broken down by venue.

If you prefer a comfortable theater atmosphere, or are a fan of MGM properties, Dolby Live at Park MGM should be your venue of choice. Usher is the primary headliner for Dolby Live this summer, with eight shows scheduled for the second half of July (15th, 16th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 27th, 29th, and 30th), three shows scheduled for the end of August (26th, 27th, and 31st), and five shows scheduled for the beginning of September (3rd, 4th, 7th, 9th, and 10th). While not the headliners, there are two other big-name performances this summer at Dolby Live. If you are a fan of Silk Sonic, the duo comprised of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, they are performing nine shows in August. The dates of their shows are August 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 16th, 18th, and 19th. Lastly, Aerosmith is performing six shows in September. They are performing September 14th, 17th, 20th, 23rd, 26th, and 29th. Tickets can be purchased at the Dolby Live box office, or online via the Park MGM’s website here

One of newest venues in town, the Resorts World Theatre, will also be hosting a cast of high-profile musicians this summer. Journey will be performing with the Symphony Orchestra on July 22nd and 23rd. After Journey, Katy Perry will end her PLAY residency with the final eight shows scheduled for July and August. She will be performing July 29th, July 30th, and August 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th, 12th, and 13th. Country star Luke Bryan will begin his Vegas residency at the end of August with three shows at the Resorts World Theatre. His shows are scheduled for August 31st, September 3rd, and September 4th. While he’s not performing a large amount of shows during the summer, his residency will continue in November and December. The last concerts for this summer at Resorts World Theatre will be back-to-back performances from Enrique Iglesias with special guest Los Tres Tristes Tigres. Tickets can be purchased from AXS, the official ticketing partner of the Resorts World Theatre, here.

Zappos Theatre, one of the longtime classic venues (under different names) in Vegas for all kinds of performances from charity events to concerts, will feature three big residencies, along with some other concerts this summer. Unfortunately, there is not much music happening in July, with one performance from rock group Rise Against on July 15th, August and September feature a majority of the summer’s musical entertainment. John Legend will continue his Love In Las Vegas residency that began in April in August with 8 performances throughout the month. He is scheduled to perform on the 5th, 6th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 17, 19th, and 20th. Shania Twain, the best-selling female country artist of all time, will be finishing up her Let’s Go residency that she started in 2021 with the final shows in August and September. Her August performances are scheduled for the 26th, 27th, and 31st, while her September performances are scheduled for the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 9th, and 10th. September also features a performance from Nine Inch Nails on the 15th and a two-night performance from Pitbull as part of his Can’t Stop Us Now tour with guests Iggy Azalea and Sean Paul on September 16th and 17th. To end September and lead into the fall, Miranda Lambert will begin her Velvet Rodeo residency with four shows in the last week of September. Her September performances are scheduled for the 23rd, 24th, 28th, and 30th. Tickets can be purchased through TicketMaster, the official ticketing partner of Zappos Theater, here

Lastly, if you’re more interested in one-off performances instead of residencies, there are some great shows coming to T-Mobile Arena this summer. On July 15th, Machine Gun Kelly, with special guests Avril Lavigne and Willow, will be performing as part of his Mainstream Sellout tour. James Taylor and his All-Star Band also have a show in July, scheduled for the 30th. In August, Daddy Yankee will perform two shows on the 6th and 20th as part of his La Última Vuelta World Tour. If you are a fan of The Killers, Chris Brown, or Lil Baby, they all also have shows in August. The Killers will be performing August 26th as part of their Imploding the Mirage tour with special guest Johnny Marr. The next night, August 27th, Chris Brown and Lil Baby are performing as part of their One of Them Ones Tour presented by Rolling Loud. September also features some big name performances. On September 2nd, Swedish House Mafia is performing as part of their Paradise Again Tour. A week later, Kendrick Lamar is stopping by as part of The Big Steppers tour with appearances from Baby Keem and Tanna Leone on September 9th. The last tour concert for the month at T-Mobile is Shawn Mendes and guest Tate McRae as part of his world tour Wonder. To close out the month, iHeartRadio is back in town for the iHeartRadio music festival on September 23rd and 24th. The current lineup, which is subject to change, features 28 artists: Avril Lavigne, Black Eyed Peas, Diplo, Halsey, Lionel Richie, LL Cool J, Luke Combs, Marcus Mumford, Maren Morris, Megan Thee Stallion, Morgan Wallen, Nicki Minaj, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Sam Smith, The Black Keys, Maggie Rogers, 5 Seconds of Summer, Big Time Rush, Girl in Red, Lauv, Chlöe, Carly Pearce, Willow, Chase Rice, Latto, Ryan Hurd, Gayle, and Lauren Spencer-Smith. Tickets can be purchased through AXS, the official ticketing partner of T-Mobile Arena, here.

We’re sure you’ve heard about Punxsutawney Phil of Pennsylvania, but did you know Nevada has its own unique way of signaling the arrival of spring in the desert? His name is Mojave Max! Mojave Max, a tortoise residing at the Springs Preserve in Las Vegas, acts as a local mascot for the desert tortoise conservation program. Katrina Smith, the Senior Zoologist at the preserve, explains that Mojave Max's emergence is rooted in biology rather than folklore. Unlike a rodent seeing its shadow, which holds no real significance, the emergence of a desert tortoise is a biological event. For Max, the temperature inside his burrow must reach a certain threshold before he becomes active. This signals the warming weather, the blooming of flowers, and the increase in wildlife activity. When he emerges, it marks the official arrival of spring! Over the past two years, Max has emerged in late March, and his return has become a highly anticipated event. For over 25 years, local elementary students have been participating in the Mojave Max Emergence Contest, guessing the date of his big appearance. Mojave Max's emergence serves as a reminder that spring in the desert is not just a season, but a living, breathing change in the environment that calls for our attention and care!
